The Doctrine of Discovery was written by the Catholic Church in the 1400's and has greatly influenced the Church and the nation for the past 500 years, including the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Supreme Court. This seminar will examine the history of the Church and the US to uncover the roots of the systemic racism, sexism, and classism that are experienced by many today.
