Power is the ability to act, and authority is the permission to act. The world operates through power, but Christ operated out of authority. This workshop will examine the Biblical dynamics of power and authority, looking closely at how the church's obsession with power has caused it to become impotent in regards to authority, and therefore less capable of confronting systemic evils such as racism and sexism.
